tutu

Roxy didn't like it

I made this cute little flower and sewed it to the shirt like a brooch, but Roxy didn't like it. I was making matching ones for her and Syndi, so I guess just S will have one.

2nd Penny Rug

This is the second penny rug I've made. I really like this pattern, but I don't know exactly where I will put it.

I think I'll use this pattern for a hooked rug sometime.

Custom t-shirts for Roxy

Another project I've done to keep busy is sewing these custom appliques on Roxy's plain t-shirts. I know it has nothing to do with hooking, but I want to remember the different projects I've done.

This shirt cost $2.50 and the added fabric was about $0.30 for the amount I used. Well worth it.

And an "s" for Sydney, Roxy's cousin.

First penny rug

Another wool craft I love is penny rugs. This is the first one I tried. Blaine made the pattern for me.  It is definitely not perfect, I look forward to improving as I continue to try.

Second hooked rug

This is just a little rug, I will either use it as a candle mat or a little mat for a stool top.

I found five wool suits at a yard sale for five dollars. What a deal!  The blue in this rug is from one of those suits.

First hooking attempt

When I got laid off work I found myself with time I was not used to having. And while I definitely love staying home with the kids, I felt like I needed something more, a hobby. One day I went into Cornwagon Quilts.  There, I saw these wool hooked rugs and fell in love with them. So I bought a kit for one and gave it a try. Once I was done, I can see many, many mistakes. My loops are too short and too close together, but still it was fun and will be the first of many.

This is a close up to show the texture.
